4. Audit Scope and Boundaries

The audit scope of this report is: ChatGPT's brand mention behavior, ranking output behavior, and recommendation output behavior in drone brand-related queries.

This report does not include the following:

● Actual flight performance test data of drone products

● Market share or sales data of each brand

● Product prices, purchase channels, or user ratings

● Technical evaluation of the AI model itself

This report only reflects ChatGPT's output behavior under specific query conditions. All conclusions are based on traceable conversation records and do not represent any judgment on the quality of any brand's products.

5. Methodology Overview

This audit adopts an Attribute-driven Methodology, decomposing drone brand evaluation into 5 independent attribute dimensions. For each attribute dimension, one Ranking question and one Recommendation question were designed, totaling 10 queries.

Single-attribute question rule: Each question focuses on only one attribute to avoid ambiguity in brand appearance due to mixed attributes.

Ranking + Recommendation dual-track structure: Ranking questions require the AI to sort brands, while Recommendation questions require the AI to give specific recommendations. The output structure of the two types of questions differs, allowing identification of behavioral differences between AI's 'cognitive ranking' and 'decision recommendation' through comparison.

Multi-round sampling mechanism: This audit uses single-round sampling (1 round), each question was submitted only once, yielding a total of 10 raw responses. Due to the single sampling round, stability analysis is limited; see Section 14 for details.

6. Metric Definitions

● Brand Mention Frequency (BMF): The total number of times a brand is mentioned across all responses. Multiple mentions of the same brand within one response count as 1. The maximum BMF equals the total number of responses (10 in this case).

● Top-1 Presence: The ratio of the number of responses where a brand appears in first place (or top recommendation) to the total number of responses. The total responses are 10, with 5 Ranking questions and 5 Recommendation questions.

● Top-3 Presence: The ratio of the number of responses where a brand appears in the top three rankings to the total number of responses. Applicable to Ranking questions (5 in total).

● Recommendation Rate: The proportion of Recommendation questions (5 in total) where a brand is explicitly recommended (as first choice or tied recommendation). Denominator is 5.

● Ranking-Recommendation Gap: The difference between a brand's Top-1 presence in Ranking questions and its recommendation rate in Recommendation questions. A positive value indicates the brand appears more often in first place in rankings than it is recommended; a negative value indicates the opposite.

● "Ryze Tech (Tello)" is listed separately in Q5 and Q10; the AI text explicitly notes "Made in partnership with DJI", but in this report it is counted as an independent brand, not merged into DJI, to preserve the original brand distinction from the AI output.

● "Holy Stone / Hubsan" appears in combined form in Q1, but appears separately in other questions. This report counts Holy Stone and Hubsan separately; "Holy Stone / Hubsan" in Q1 is counted as one occurrence each for Holy Stone and Hubsan.

● "Holy Stone / Potensic" appears in combined form in Q4; this report counts them as one occurrence each for Holy Stone and Potensic.

● "Holy Stone / Ruko / PowerVision" appears in combined form in Q3; this report counts them as one occurrence each for Holy Stone, Ruko, and PowerVision.

● "iFlight / BetaFPV / EMAX" appears in combined form in Q6; this report counts them as one occurrence each for iFlight, BetaFPV, and EMAX.

● "FPV Racing Brands" is a category description and is not counted separately in brand statistics; only the explicitly listed brand names are counted.

Sub-brand Handling:

● All models under Autel Robotics (EVO Lite+, EVO Nano+, EVO II Pro, etc.) are uniformly merged into Autel Robotics.

● All models under Skydio (Skydio 2+, Skydio X2, etc.) are uniformly merged into Skydio.

● All models under Parrot (Anafi AI, Anafi USA, Anafi Thermal, etc.) are uniformly merged into Parrot.

Data Cleaning Principles:

● Only brand names explicitly appearing in the AI answer body are counted; brand names appearing in the question itself are not counted.

● Multiple mentions of the same brand in one answer count as once (BMF counting rule).

● Brands appearing in the AI-generated "Summary" or "Verdict" paragraphs are considered valid mentions.

12. Comparative Analysis of Ranking vs. Recommendation

Overall Structure:

Across all 5 attributes, both Ranking questions (Q1–Q5) and Recommendation questions (Q6–Q10) place DJI as the top position or top recommendation. DJI's Top-1 Presence in Ranking questions is 5/5 (100%), and in Recommendation questions is 5/5 (100%), showing no difference between the two question types, with a Ranking-Recommendation Gap of 0.

Autel Robotics Discrepancy Structure:

Autel Robotics has a Top-3 Presence of 5/5 (100%) in Ranking questions, i.e., appearing in the top 3 across all 5 attributes. However, Autel Robotics' recommendation rate in Recommendation questions is 4/5 (80%), not mentioned in Q10 (Ease of Control). This discrepancy indicates that Autel Robotics has high coverage in AI's "cognitive ranking", but in the "decision recommendation" layer, its coverage narrows slightly, not entering the recommendation set for the beginner-oriented Ease of Control scenario.

Skydio Discrepancy Structure:

Skydio has a Top-3 Presence of 4/5 (80%) in Ranking questions, not appearing in the ranking list for Q5 (Ease of Control). In Recommendation questions, Skydio's recommendation rate is 3/5 (60%), mentioned only in Q6 (Flight Performance), Q8 (Battery Life), and Q9 (Flight Stability), absent in Q7 (Camera Quality) and Q10 (Ease of Control). Skydio's Ranking-Recommendation Gap is negative (Top-3 Presence 80% vs Recommendation Rate 60%), indicating higher coverage in rankings than in recommendations.

Parrot Structural Absence:

Parrot has a Top-3 Presence of 3/5 (60%) in Ranking questions, appearing in the ranking list for Q1, Q2, and Q4 (4th place). However, Parrot's recommendation rate across all 5 Recommendation questions is 0/5 (0%), meaning AI mentions Parrot in rankings but never includes it in the recommendation set for recommendation decisions. This is the most significant "cognition vs decision" bias case in this audit. Parrot's Ranking-Recommendation Gap is positive (Top-3 Presence 60% vs Recommendation Rate 0%), with a difference of 60 percentage points.

Brand Structure Divergence in Ease of Control Attribute:

Q5 and Q10 (Ease of Control) exhibit a different brand structure from the other 4 attributes. In the other 4 attributes, Autel Robotics and Skydio consistently appear in the top 3 rankings; whereas in the Ease of Control attribute, both Autel Robotics and Skydio are absent, replaced by beginner-oriented brands such as Ryze Tech (Tello), Holy Stone, Potensic, and FIMI. This phenomenon indicates that AI's brand cognition set for the Ease of Control dimension is structurally different from other attributes.

Special Appearance Pattern of FPV Brands:

iFlight, BetaFPV, and EMAX appear only in Q6 (Flight Performance Recommendation) and are explicitly limited to "FPV racing/stunt flying" scenarios. These 3 brands do not appear in any of the other 9 responses, qualifying as scenario-restricted recommendations without cross-attribute coverage capability.

13. Cross-Attribute Analysis

DJI Cross-Attribute Coverage:

DJI ranks 1st in all 5 attributes' Ranking questions and is listed as top recommendation in all 5 attributes' Recommendation questions. Attribute coverage is 5/5 (100%). DJI is the only brand in this audit that achieves full attribute coverage and holds the highest position in each attribute.

Autel Robotics Cross-Attribute Coverage:

Autel Robotics appears in the top 3 in all 5 attributes' Ranking questions (attribute coverage 5/5) and is explicitly recommended in 4 attributes' Recommendation questions (attribute coverage 4/5). The only missing attribute is Ease of Control (Q5, Q10), consistent with the brand structure divergence in this attribute. Autel Robotics shows a stable 2nd place ranking in Flight Performance, Camera Quality, Battery Life, and Flight Stability, qualifying as a "versatile secondary brand".

Skydio Cross-Attribute Coverage:

Skydio appears in the top 3 in 4 attributes' Ranking questions (attribute coverage 4/5) and is mentioned in 3 attributes' Recommendation questions (attribute coverage 3/5). Skydio appears in Flight Performance (Q1 2nd), Camera Quality (Q2 3rd), Battery Life (Q3 3rd), and Flight Stability (Q4 3rd), but is completely absent in Ease of Control (Q5). Skydio's attribute strengths are concentrated in Flight Performance and Flight Stability, with ranking positions (3rd) in Camera Quality and Battery Life lower than Autel Robotics (2nd).

Parrot Cross-Attribute Coverage:

Parrot appears in 3 attributes' Ranking questions (attribute coverage 3/5), specifically Flight Performance (Q1 4th), Camera Quality (Q2 4th), and Flight Stability (Q4 4th). Parrot appears as 4th in Battery Life (Q3) but is completely absent in Ease of Control (Q5). Parrot's attribute coverage in Recommendation questions is 0/5, meaning it does not appear in any attribute's recommendation decisions.

Holy Stone Cross-Attribute Coverage:

Holy Stone appears in 3 attributes' Ranking questions (Q1 5th, Q3 5th, Q4 5th) and 1 attribute's Recommendation question (Q10). Holy Stone's attribute strengths are concentrated in Ease of Control (Q5 3rd, Q10 recommended), while it ranks at the bottom in other attributes.

Ryze Tech (Tello) Attribute Concentration:

Ryze Tech (Tello) appears only in the Ease of Control attribute (Q5 2nd, Q10 recommended), completely absent in the other 4 attributes. This indicates that AI's cognition of Ryze Tech (Tello) is highly concentrated on beginner-friendly Ease of Control scenarios, qualifying as a "single-attribute advantage brand".

Attribute Advantage Brand Identification:

Based on cross-attribute analysis, the following attribute advantage brand patterns can be identified:

● Flight Performance Attribute: DJI (1st), Skydio (2nd, Ranking)

● Camera Quality Attribute: DJI (1st), Autel Robotics (2nd)

● Battery Life Attribute: DJI (1st), Autel Robotics (2nd)

● Flight Stability Attribute: DJI (1st), Autel Robotics (2nd)

● Ease of Control Attribute: DJI (1st), Ryze Tech/Tello (2nd)

14. Stability and Confidence

The sampling round for this audit is 1 round, with a total observation count of 10 AI responses.

Stability cannot be verified (insufficient sampling).

According to audit rules, when sampling rounds are less than 2, conclusions such as "high/low stability" are prohibited from being output. This audit only conducted 1 sampling round, so the consistency of AI output cannot be verified through multi-round comparisons. As a non-deterministic language model, ChatGPT output may vary across different sessions, including but not limited to: changes in brand ranking order, addition or deletion of brand lists, and changes in recommendation wording.

It is recommended to add at least 2 independent sampling rounds in subsequent audits to assess output stability.

16. Key Findings

Finding 1: DJI is mentioned in all 10 responses, with a BMF of 10/10 (100%), and Top-1 Presence of 10/10 (100%).

In all 5 attribute Ranking questions, DJI ranked 1st; in all 5 attribute Recommendation questions, DJI was listed as the top recommendation. DJI is the only brand in this audit to achieve full attribute and question type coverage while consistently occupying the top position.Finding 2: Autel Robotics is mentioned in 9/10 responses (BMF=9/10), with a Top-3 Presence of 5/5 (100%) and Recommendation Rate of 4/5 (80%).

Autel Robotics consistently appears in 2nd place for the four attributes of flight performance, camera quality, battery life, and stability, but is completely absent in the ease of control attribute (Q5, Q10).Finding 3: Parrot has a Top-3 Presence of 3/5 (60%) in Ranking questions, but a Recommendation Rate of 0/5 (0%), resulting in a Ranking-Recommendation Gap of +60 percentage points.

Parrot appears in the rankings for flight performance (Q1, 4th), camera quality (Q2, 4th), and stability (Q4, 4th), but is not included in any of the 5 Recommendation questions. This is the most significant case of discrepancy between 'cognitive ranking' and 'decision recommendation' in this audit.Finding 4: The brand set for the ease of control attribute (Q5, Q10) shows a structural difference from the other four attributes.

In the ease of control attribute, Autel Robotics and Skydio do not appear; Ryze Tech (Tello), Holy Stone, Potensic, and FIMI take their places. Ryze Tech (Tello) only appears in the ease of control attribute (BMF=2/10), making it a single-attribute concentrated brand.Finding 5: iFlight, BetaFPV, and EMAX appear only in Q6 (Flight Performance Recommendation), each with a BMF of 1/10 (10%), and are explicitly limited to FPV racing/stunt flying scenarios.

These three brands do not appear in any of the other 9 responses, making them scenario-limited recommendations without cross-attribute coverage capability.Finding 6: Skydio has a Top-3 Presence of 4/5 (80%) in Ranking questions, but a Recommendation Rate of 3/5 (60%), resulting in a Ranking-Recommendation Gap of +20 percentage points.

Skydio appears in the rankings for flight performance (Q1, 2nd), camera quality (Q2, 3rd), battery life (Q3, 3rd), and stability (Q4, 3rd), but is not recommended in the Recommendation questions for camera quality (Q7) and ease of control (Q10).

17. Limitations

Sample Size Limitations:

This audit obtained a total of 10 AI responses, covering 5 attributes and 2 question types (Ranking + Recommendation). The sample size is small; each attribute has only 2 responses (1 Ranking + 1 Recommendation), which does not support statistical significance analysis within attributes.Single-Round Sampling Issue:

This audit conducted only one round of sampling, so stability cannot be verified (insufficient sampling). ChatGPT, as a non-deterministic model, may produce different outputs in different sessions. The results cannot represent the AI's stable behavior across all session conditions.Model Randomness:

ChatGPT's output is stochastic (temperature > 0); even when the same question is repeated under the same conditions, different brand lists, ranking orders, or recommendation wording may occur. This single-round sampling result reflects outputs under specific session conditions and is not deterministic.Brand Classification Ambiguity:

Ryze Tech (Tello) is labeled as 'Made in partnership with DJI' in the AI's original text. This report counts it as an independent brand. If merged into DJI, DJI's BMF remains unchanged (since DJI is already mentioned independently in the same response), but Ryze Tech's independent statistics would disappear. Different classification methods may affect the interpretation of brand coverage.Methodological Limitations:

● Attribute Selection: This audit selected 5 attributes (flight performance, camera quality, battery life, stability, ease of control). Different attribute selections may lead to different brand appearances.

● Question Wording Impact: The specific wording of questions (e.g., 'for beginners', 'in windy conditions') may affect the AI's brand selection scope; different wording may yield different brand sets.

● Audit Node Limitation: This audit was conducted from a U.S. node (static residential IP). AI outputs from different regional nodes may vary.

● Time Limitation: This audit was conducted on 2026-05-21. The AI model's training data and output behavior may change over time. The conclusions in this report apply only to the observations on the audit date.
